Test Out & Credit Recovery

Students have the opportunity to earn credit by 'testing out' of a class offered at CJHS. The student must score a 78% or higher on the test to earn credit. Students who successfully test out of a class will be awarded credit, but no letter grade will be given. The grade will be recorded as an "S" (Satisfactory), therefore the student's GPA will not be impacted. Test outs are only given twice per school year, in August and December.

The Test Out date is Thursday, August 6, 2026. The deadline to apply is Friday, May 22, 2026.

Before filling out the Test Out Application, you MUST contact your CJHS counselor to discuss your test out plan.
Below you will find study guides and/or useful information pertaining to the subject areas we offer for students to test out of. 

If your student wants a physical textbook to use for studying, they must check out a book from the CJHS media center during school hours prior to summer break.

SUMMER SCHOOL

Courses are offered through our Clarkston Community Education for both credit recovery and advancement purposes.  Summer School is for students who would like to advance, or those who need to recover credit(s) or wish to achieve a higher grade (please note - original grade is NOT removed from the transcript, but rather will replace configuration in GPA upon request). Students must check with their counselor before registering to ensure that they sign up for the correct class.
